Surya Prasad

January Member of the Month

   1.What is your favorite thing to do on the team?

I love being able to spend time with my friends and making cool robot subsystems.

 

 

   2.What made you try out for Nemesis Prime?

When I was a freshman, I was heavily influenced by my parents to try out for the robotics team. Although I didn’t want to at first, I’m so glad I did because it opened my eyes and set me on a path to a future in mechanical engineering.

 

   3.What have you learned most from your experience?

Before robotics, it was very hard for me to write and speak formally. But with the help of my mentors, I was able to grasp the concept of formal writing, and it helped me in other classes like English and History.

 

   4.What do you do outside the lab?

I enjoy playing video games and basketball with my friends.

 

   5.Where do you see yourself in 5 years? 10 years?

In five years I want to be at Rutgers, studying mechanical engineering.

 

   6.What has being a team member done for you?

Being a team member has given me new opportunities for my future, and also new friends.

 

   7.What has been your favorite moment on the team so far?

My favorite moments are the ones where we take a break from work, and I just talk and laugh with my friends.

 

   8.If you were in charge of creating the next FTC game challenge, what would you call it?

Roaring Rumble, I like the name

 

   9.What’s your favorite sport? Class? Extra curricular activity?

My favorite sport is basketball because I’m never forced to play and even when I am I can play with friends and have fun. My favorite class is History because we learn new things in a fun and exciting way. My favorite extracurricular activity is robotics.

 

   10.If you were an animal, what would you be? Why?

I would be a monkey, because I act like one.
